Dear UCSB Affiliates,
We hope you had a wonderful summer! As a new academic year approaches, the UCSB Affiliates are thrilled to return from our summer hiatus with an exciting lineup of community programming.
We are kicking things off this season with two incredible events, starting with Debates on Draft: Wildfire in California on Tuesday, August 25th at 6:00 PM at Validation Ale, where top environmental minds from NCEAS will debate the future of California's wildfires. Audience members are encouraged to join the conversation, ask questions, and cast your vote!
Looking ahead to September, we are proud to partner with the historic Bellosguardo Estate and Margerum Wine Company on Saturday, September 19th for Drinking Wine in Ancient Greece and Persia. This exclusive evening features a fascinating lecture by UCSB History Professor John W.I. Lee exploring ancient wine-drinking cultures, remarks by winemaker Doug Margerum, self-guided estate tours, wine and light hors d'oeuvres. Read on to purchase tickets, view our full calendar, and learn how you can get involved with the Affiliates this season!
Until next time,
